Welcome to Tyler’s Honey

It all began in 2019 when I bought my first hive and placed it in a wood near Writtle, Essex. I initially thought I could just leave the bees to do their thing, but I quickly learned how wrong I was. Unfortunately, they didn’t last a year, likely because they were a swarm that didn’t settle well in their new home. Determined to succeed, I moved the hive to my garden, hoping to catch a swarm of my own.

In April of the following year, I finally succeeded. This time, I did things right by contacting my local Beekeepers Association and registering for their beekeeping course. Through the course and the support of the other helpful members, I gained invaluable knowledge and enjoyed all the monthly meetings.

I began increasing my stock of hives by splitting them and catching swarms. After the first two years, my bees started producing enough honey for me to sell some of it.

Now, five years on, I have hives in four locations and plan to expand to an additional site. My dream is to give up my full-time job and become a full-time beekeeper, supplying liquid gold to my local customers and outlets. With your support, this dream could become a reality. All you need to do is try my honey, and you’ll be hooked. You can also come and see my bees and experience the “buzz” of beekeeping firsthand.
